Nice catch, although shooting from above is often considered less desirable than being down level with the subject. But in that location, I know that's not easy. And there is some merit in a different view -- not every shot has to conform to some sort of norm. You certainly have interest here in the reflection.

I like the highlight detail you brought down, and the crop of the lily pad at the top edge. I notice you brought the Shadows down (darker) -- I'd have considered going to the right with them, or at least right of where you have them. Maybe they were OK at 0. The reflection seems a bit heavy on my monitor. If you do that, you might not need to raise the Blacks slider.

As you get more advanced, people will comment on detail in the whites. You might be able to bring them down a little, possibly needing to lower exposure, but going lower with Highlights might do it. It's all a juggle.

I leave the Quick Develop settings collapsed and never click on Auto Tone, nor do I have it set in the import settings. Sometimes it's OK and sometimes not -- I'd rather do it all from scratch, starting with all the sliders at 0.

I love seeing your slider positions! What a great way to show what you've done!

Hi Joaquin, what a nice Heron! The imagem would have benefited from a lower POV to eliminate the distractions on the reflection cause by the branches, also the darks are a bit too dark for me.

    Keep them coming!

Hi Joaquin, This is a way cool image. Love the intensity and hunting posture. Reflection adds to the dimensionality. (is that a word?). Love environmental shots... but would be nice if you could lose some of the bright yellow reeds here. BTW... I believe this is a Green Heron. POV is a bit high.... but ok by me! I really like it!
Also.... take some time to hop in and comment on others' photos.... it is really what makes this Site work.
