Default Kestrel looking into the window (Sorry advertising)

The other day, the kestrel landed directly outside the bird tower's window. A close experience, I was alone in the tower that morning. I don't like advertising, but the tripod happened to be one of those with a text that was reflected in the window. I was hiding in the opposite corner of the tower and shot the kestrel with a Canon 1 Ds Mark III and 70-200/2,8. - You may shoot me because of the centre positioned bird.

I like the look of curiosity that you're getting with this one as well as the colors. You could always crop it to get him out of the center and even clone out the tripod if you wanted. If you cropped on the left side you would eliminate the tripod and get him off center.

Very nice. Call me odd, but I sort of like the NG tripod reflection. There is a bit of a color cast to the image, and I think you didn't convert it to sRGB before posting. When I pulled it up in PS, it looked totally different than it does on the web. Safari is the only web browser that is color managed, so not converting to sRGB causes a lot of people to see something other than what you intended.

Just a quick cast removal and profile conversion, what do you think?

    Hi,

and thanks, yes I am using Mac and Safari, so I didn't change it to sRGB, the same with Keynote which I use for my slide presentations.

And yes, of course the reflection of the tripod should be there. Without that I would probably have thrown this photo in the trash or not taken it. Nature photo has a tendency of always removing all man-made objects. - Why not do the opposite sometimes and break that illusion or just show the very interesting fact that the wild very often is so close and interacts with what is man-made?

    Thank you.

For the longest time I didn't bother with sRGB, then I switched to Thunderbird and noticed how bad (or at least different) my images looked to the rest of the world.

Good point on the man-made objects. I like the subtle change Jim made to the image Brutus. The look on the bird's face goes well with the reflection because it tells the viewer that you were in close.
