Hi Andre, like the image and comp, coming in from the RHS is good IMHO, being slightly 'grubby' adds to the interest. Blacks do look a little thin, but I think Andreas has pushed them a little too much, just try the Curves preset Linear contrast, then add some black in the Neutrals & Blacks via selective colour & mask. Did you lighten the face as the light looks even, I would expect the LHS to be a bit more in shadow? I would have upped the ISO to around 800 just for a bit more SS.
Any changes to the BKG?

Hi Andre - Still haven't seen a badger in the wild so I really enjoy these images. The comp and pov work very well here. I agree about the blacks but for me somewhere in between your OP and Andreas's RP would work best. I feel the RP is a bit too crunchy and gritty.

Rachel

Lovely image Andre, agree the blacks look a little flat and Steve has offered some good advice to correct this, the whole image does somewhat look a little flat and perhaps even a little under exposed, lets see what the others think. Otherwise great pose and lovely detail.

Neat capture and good composition Andre. Good sharpness throughout. The OP looks a bit softer and warmer than Andreas' repost which I prefer

What a sighting! I'm just back from a trip to KTP that was also quieter than usual (but apparently the Nossob area had great action, we were only in Twee Rivieren and Mata Mata this time around).
Lovely timing and details. Another vote for something between your OP and the Andreas-version...

Regardless of the small nits, these sightings are to be cherished, especially this close as well Andre!

Lovely image of a shy creature. The RP is a bit too choked up, but it's in the right direction. like the impression that the HB is appearing around that rocky outcrop.
