    Default Time to Upgrade my Tripod?

    I have a Gitzo 1327 tripod that I've been using since way back in
    2007.

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

    Just thinking out loud here as I was looking at the Gitzo GT3532LS
    (and others)...

    Would there be any benefit to upgrading to a brand new tripod?

    I'm sure the newer one's weigh a pound or two less than what I'm
    using now...but any other advantages?

    Thanks
    Doug

    Hi Doug,

    I have just bought a new Gitzo 3532LS, after looking for a used 3530LS for ages, and believe me it is one amazing bit of kit! You won't regret the quality, ease of use (leg locks much improved over older models) incredible stability (noticeably better than a used 3530LSV I did get to try) but the price is a different matter! ;-)

    Just be sure take care around saltwater, see Gail Bisson's post.

    Hope this helps,

    Julian.
