    This is lovely Roy.
The light is beautiful and the layered BG is perfect.
I like the perch and think the central comp works well but I would take a bit off the top to play up the horizontal line of the perch.

The background is just as amazing as the detail on the subject and the perch is fantastic, wouldn't mind knowing what bird species this is though.

Thanks for sharing it with us. ^.^

Gorgeous say's phoebe, really enhanced by the warm, rich light quality. I enjoy the lively pose. I think Gayle's composition suggestion would work nicely. Sharpness is excellent. Perch quality and character is really excellent!

Hi Roy, exquisite light, and have captured a great angled pose, and with an open beak. Interesting looking perch - what is on the perch? The BG colours are great, and I agree with Gail to take a bit off the top. Well captured.

Great image for all the reasons others have said Roy. Did you also grab an image with the bird facing the other way? I would like to see that for comparison if you did... TFS

Gail, Matthew, Karl, Shawn, Stuart, Keith, Holger and Enrique, Thanks very much for the kind words. As far as cropping do you crop to fit the picture or to a certain size? I crop to a certain size to make it easier to post to forums and use actions in PS.
Matthew the bird is a Say's Phoebe quite a common bird in the west. This was taken in Arizona but I have them in B.C. as well, quite the range.
Stuart, sorry I don't know the plant, some kind of weed.
Enrique, The only ones I have facing right are flight shots of the bird landing on the perch, As soon as he landed he turned around and faced the other way.

Ah sorry for the confusion, when i seen "say's phoebe" I thought it was a thread title to have some kind of interaction with the bird not it actually being the species name.
Guess that comes down to me not knowing much about birds out side of Australia.

    Thank you kindly ^.^
