    Default Goose Portrait

The opportunities for bird photography at Morro Bay this last week were disappointing as the migrating birds were gone and the nesting cormorants and egrets were too far away---even though I got "annointed" as I stood watching the nesting activity at the rookery:o Then I found this goose and his female partner at the park and shot away. This is full frame, is it too tight? What kind of goose is it? I like the texture. Comments and advice greatly appreciated.

hi katie, beautiful goose. i dont know what kind it is but i do like it!! i would crop some off the left. bird is too centered. i would add another round of shapening to the bird too. that is a fantastic bg!! nice and clean. thanks for sharing.

Nice one Katie! The goose and the BG go well together. Maybe because the goose's head almost fills the frame not sure about a crop off the left, doesn't feel really centered to me??

Looking good katie !!! I like the crop as presented !!!

Lots of detail and great head angle I would lighten the eye a bit just like Harold did with the Heron. Lighten and slightly saturate then on more usm pass !!! I like it a lot !!!
