Taken earlier this year. I like it and want to see if it prints well at 12x18, but I thought I would ask for feedback first... do the blues look ok? Thanks!
7D, 700mm @ F/6.3, 1/640, ISO 800, HH, cropped from horizontal.
The blues look great. Nice picture. Is the eye tack sharp? It is hard to tell on this website sometimes since pixel dimensions are so restricted.
Might look better 10% darker overall; at least the background.
I love the image design and the soft light and colors. I would, though, take a bit off the top. I disagree with Henry's statement about pixel restrictions; a sharp, properly sharpened image will look superb at 1200 wide less than 400kb. The head here needs a bit more sharpening.

Love this beauty. Nice soft light, multi colored background and nice pose. It was high on my wish list while in NM last year only seen them in the distance.
Thanks for your comments. I cropped some from the top and sharpened the head a bit more. The limit for vertical is 900 px, so this image is 600x900 pixels...
Wonderful perch, and yes the blues look great. Perfect BG too. I was going to suggest a small crop from above so I am glad you re-posted with Artie's crop suggestion. Very nice!!
