    Default Red-tailed Hawk in flight.

    The top one quarter of the background was the gray sky. Using the bottom three quarter colors, I filled it in.

    Making the background more uniform makes sense. However, your mask around the trailing wing feathers needs help, especially where they are fringed with white. It does not look real to me. I suggest learning more about masking. If you are using Photoshop try working more with refine edge. Also, zoom in closer and use the paint brush to clean up the mask to avoid the flaws seen in the "V" areas between the feathers.

    Stunning capture even though the bird is angled slightly away. I see just one spot on the trailing secondaries that needed more care. But I no longer see such good :).

    The BG is lovely and i like the level of the bird compared to the sensor
    the wings up position works well here.
    Placement of the bird in the frame looks good

    Hi Karl, great raised wing position for this inflight pose, and nicely placed in the frame too. I do like the colour of the BG, but do see some banding in the BG below the bird.
