    This playfull little guy was jotting in and out, around and about in between the grass and weeds avoiding me till I finally captured him...:eek: He was painted with a Nikon D70s using a Nikkor 300mm f/4D and a Nikkor 1.4 T/C.
    focal length @ 420mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / matrix metering / 1/100sec - f/5.6 / ISO @ 500
    exposure comp @ 0EV / white balance @ auto / AF Mode @ AF-C / color mode @ sRGB / hue adjustment @ 0 degrees / saturaction factor @ 0 degrees / no speedlight / no tripod /

    gus, i like your black-crowned night heron!!! i have been on an eye kick lately so i worked on it a bit. just used USM. also added some NR and lightened the right side of the bird a bit. hope you like it. i added some USM to the bird too. may have overdone it.

    I like the work on the eye Harold !!!! Little details make all the difference

    Good bird and pose Gus Got him to the proper side of the frame looking into the empty space. Just lots of bg clutter. Good record image but need to find them in the open !!! Right now they are nesting at Ding Darling. All the way at the end of the drive. The area has a rope so you can't miss it. Lots of opportunities for images !!!!

    Agree with Al regarding the clutter. Personally I like more of a clean background, but that's just me.

    I'll have to be odd man out re: the eye.
    The BCNH has a very smooth red and well defined pupil edge. The rework (IMO) make it very rough and irregular

    aside from that, good stalking Gus
