    Default One Among Many

I'm headed down to the Bosque tomorrow to co-lead a workshop with Greg Basco and Keith Bauer. I went down to the refuge last week to scout things out and came home with this frame.

The wing position, the catchlight, the detail, are all great ... but it's the background that makes it for me. It would have been good against a solid blue sky, but this "one among many" really makes it great!

Perfect Bosque Goose and I really like the BG.
I think a bit more room all around would look good.

The higher contrast of the bird makes it "pop" against the background, creating a 3D effect. Very nice.

The IQ is great. Perfect exposure and tack sharp.
I think I would like a bit more room in front but that is a personal taste thing.
    Have fun on your workshop,
    Gail

I'd love to see a looser comp, especially with that interesting oof geese BG, but you got a killer flight pose with lots of details in those whites.

A looser crop would have been ideal, but that's all the canvas I had at the top of the frame.

Excellent IQ, pose and perfect exposure on the whites. The OOF ducks look pretty good as a backdrop.

Wowsa (gosh, I try to avoid that word!) ... This goose is stunning.... especially among the "many others". ... head-room is fine. You really made the subject and bg totally WORK!

I normally dont like shots with a bunch of OOF birds in the BG but this one is pretty cool. The BG has just enough blue sky in it to make it look even and balanced. The Goose is well exposed and the pose looks great with very little shadowing.
I like the comp exactly how it is. Nice work Doug
