Very nice pose and low angle. Good exposure. A touch more sharpening might not hurt. Not a duck we see around here.

Repost looks good, very attractive duck, looks like a Redhead crossed with a Scaup?
    Nice angle and water pattern.

Love the eye and the fine details on the back and flanks. Not sure you were able to at this spot, but getting down even lower would have been super.

The repost is an improvement. I think that some NIK Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast on the bird only could make this one sing. With the swimming slightly towards you the head needed to be on a bit straighter, that is, lined up with the body.

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

Daniel, getting lower was possible but I was pushed for time yesterday. Will be getting caked next time though for sure :)
Arthur, this was processed in DPP, which is the only pp software I have. I've been looking at upgrading to lightroom recently and will certainly consider NIK software if/when I do. Thanks again,
    D J.
