    Default Sharp-tailed Sandpiper

This is a common migrant wader (from the northern hemisphere) here in southern Australia. This guy has just plucked an (unknown) morsel from the depths...

    Thanks for looking, Greg.

    Greg,

The brown/orange really compliments the blue/cyan water. The color pallete is very pleasing to the eye.

Unfortunately, I notice that the focus point may have been on the side and not the head, as the head seems to be a bit soft. Maybe trading some SS for Aperture may have helped?

Thanks Miguel - I went back and checked the large file and the head is pretty sharp to my eyes!!
Look at the droplets on the head - I can't see any softness there - maybe my eyes need checking....

Greg the colours look great you get plenty of nice blue water over in Australia its muddy in the UK,the head does look a tad soft on my monitor but then the old eyes are not that reliable.

Looks OK to me Greg- maybe a teeny bit big in the frame for me but no big deal. Like the OOF refection ,( and I hate refections usually !!!)

Love the water drops and the open beak. I also felt that the head might be just a tad softer than the flank; not much, but a tiny bit. Not sure how you feel about the double catchlight; I know it's natural from water reflection.
