Went back to the same tree as I did on my last redstart image and had to wait close to an hour for this one to land on the tree. Many were landing close but none in the right place to have the light directly from behind.

Had to a lot of post processing due to many intersecting branches and one stuck right over the tail including a red berry to complicate matters. Eventually the only natural look was just to show the perch as is. I feel it is a bit bare with the all sky background but thats the BG i had to work with at the time. Redstarts have a knack of landing on the branch you least want

Toned down the perch and berries and sharpened the bird masking the shadow area on the tail to avoid any grain appearing

    Thanks for commenting

Shane all you can work with is what you have on the day ,just a thought and I could be totally wrong but maybe a little removed from the left and maybe try to brighten up the bird a little. I do like this nice uncluttered image.

Lovely pose and perch. I think I'd take a bit off of the left and bottom.

Hi Shane, super angled pose, and I like these type of images with the perch extending into the frame. I agree with the others to take off the left and bottom - it will really improve the overall image.

Just place him on the left hand thirds line. Here's my version, placed on the left hand thirds, taken off the bottom, RHS, and a bit off the top.

Nice simple image, and the leaves and berries add some interest. Stuart's repost is on the money as far as comp goes.

Excellent image with very nice IQ. Love the front pose with nice HA, details and perch.
