I took this shot during a fun morning of photography with David Salem, Glenn Conlan, and Jim Neiger. David was kind enough to share his Burrowing Owl location with us.

This is sweet, and the title is perfect (Nice song, too). The color palette of the bg is perfect, as is the position of the owls. I would probably have waited till the back owl moved, but you saw the potential here and created something unique. Superb work.

Hi Doug - well seen and captured with excellent details and tones. I might prefer a little less of the oof triangle in the fg.

Beautiful tones and colour here Doug, really like the way the eyes, pop! Classic 'Long John Silver' pose.

Don't know why, but it reminds me of those Matryoshka dolls (Russian nesting dolls).

Good idea Rachel. Here's a 5x7 version that removes some of the OOF earth in the FG.

Great positioning on your part to get the guy in the back just the way he is! Repost is slightly better, but I wouldn't have complained.

Super shot great composition, one to be proud of, I am sure it would do well in competition.
I would definitely consider bringing the highlights down a little bit (curves), I think the birds really stand out with just that little touch.

I love the way the front bird is on one leg and they are both looking straight at the camera, this seems to give the image a comical feel

Very cute pair. Love how the blend with the surrounding habitat. The OOF owl adds depth to the image which is great.

Great job on seeing this opportunity and making the most of it. I prefer the OP. I feel that the additional foreground helps to add some environment, adds a little bit to the story and helps to balance out the owlet in the background.
