I was just leaving an area of Louisiana swamp today after a morning of photographing with friends when I looked down from the truck window and saw this tiny sora. He was so near that he filled the entire lens.

I think this is a very nice image, Gayle. Maybe would have wished for a little better light angle and cleaner bg--but being that they are so elusive --this is wonderful!

I'm waiting for these really great birds to show their faces here. This is a nice capture showing habitat, which I like. The head/eye seem a bit soft to me, perhaps due to low shutter speed? What was it?

I just had my first sighting of this species yesterday...very apt for you to post this now!! Even better news for me is that it was sighted a mere 10 minute walk from my front door ;-)

The walking pose is nice, good view of the long toes. A bit more selective sharpening on the eye area would be good. If you have a tiny bit more room behind the tail I would be inclined to add some back. Very good!!

I like the habitat and the repeating lines created by the bird's body, feet, and the BG reeds. Could maybe use a bit more sharpening on the head. Nice colors as well.
