This is a male northern harrier, aka the grey ghost. They are extremely skittish and hard to photograph, have very few frames of the male. He caught me by surprise and only gave me a single pass but I was lucky the light was nice and I had a few frames.

    1DX 600 II + 1.4X III f/5.6 1/3200sec ISO 1000 handhold. Hope you like him.

This is a superb shot I can't see anything that I would like to change, bird looks spot on and that BG is simply stunning.

Wonderful. Great background, detail, light, eye contact. These guys are so skittish that I've only rarely seen one. Capturing a grey ghost in such a great image is a real feat.

As usual a faultless image from you Arash, the standout factor for me is the quality of the warm light.

I am speechless. Totally great image of a hard to capture bird. You must be super jazzed to have this one in your files.

Nice one Arash, it looks like this male harrier timed his fly by perfectly with the sun angle. I hope to have some success with a local grey ghost this winter.
