Haven't had a lot of time to keep up here in the last few days, but have to take a minute to say how much I love this!! Color, tonalities, composition -- just lovely!

There's a lot going for this. The color is one. It's not reminiscent of goldenrod, but that doesn't matter, at all. The lines in the texture layer(s) complement both the goldenrod stem and the colors. I also like the transition in focus within the goldenrod, itself, and then into the background. Really super.

Thanks, Dennis. The change in focus from the top to the bottom of the plant is due to using f1.8 aperture. I'm learning to use this shallow dof. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. :-)

Wow...this is rich with color and texture! The softness reminds me of fog with warm light just starting to penetrate. And the goldenrod glows. I really like the rougher textures on the bottom and that the lines continue up the sides, taking your eyes with them.

Thanks, Nancy. It was an overcast day. The textures worked out well.

This is quite different from your pastels Anita! I must say it is growing on me. I like the shallow DOF and the colour combination of the BG.
