    Default Northern Shoveler drake, molting

The waterfowl that I saw when I visited Baylands last month all seemed to be in transitional plumage from non-breeding to breeding, as per the season. It's interesting to see how they go about the transition.

Lovely image, Bill. I might take a bit off of the left to move him a little more off center.

Nice smooth water, excellent low shooting angle and the pano crop was a good choice, Bill. Love to shoot this guys but it might not happen this year as the ponds are freezing over soon.

Agree maybe a little more space right but still a fine image.

Some good points about the crop and this is nice and sharp.

I love the plumage and that wonderful shoveler bill. Nice shooting angle.

Oh yes I like it! I think the duck is just a little central, I like the overall processing but I would consider lowering the brightness on the duck just a little and then either increasing contrast a tad or using the Selective colour option to give the bird a little more pop.

Thanks everyone. Here's a repost with the bird a little to the left, and a slight tweak of brightness and blacks. Hope you like it.

Hi Bill, you have captured the colours on this fellow so well, and what a great eye. Excellent low angle, and your repost has turned out nicely.
