    Yellow hammer (male)
    Always a problem with these due to the intensity of the head colour. Usually have the camera down 2 stops.- then have to use shadow lift in image guru. Not sure a bout the bramble leaves. I prefer them or other stuff to give some sort of natural backdrop and to give a guide as to scale or size of the bird. See what folks think.

    What a lovely bird,and I think you've done a pretty good job showing him off in a tough environment. The vine coming through the frame works quite nicely against the brown. I really like his head turn and pose. You have many details in your feathers!
