I really like shooting in the tidal pools when the wind is still like this. This was captured at Ft. Desoto earlier this year, I shot this at F4.5. Trying to create a softer image to blend with the soft light and surroundings. I know it's not an ideal head angle, C&C appreciated.

Lovely pastel feeling to this image, Robert. The head angle is kind of sweet, almost looks like the bird is looking at her reflection. I just wish for a hint of light in the eye. Tough one to level, I would do this one more by eye than with a ruler tool, but I see a need for ccw rotation. Also might recompose to make it less squar-ish, but a personal choice.

This is a very pleasing image, Robert. Love the feather details and the soft palate. The image appears level. If you draw a straight line from the tip of the beak to its reflection, you will see that they match up. I would take a little bit off of the bottom if it were mine.

Marina, you are right, but what is throwing me off are the dark ripples below the bird . I struggle with level in these cases!

Hi Robert, I do like the inquistive pose, whites look good, and just love the pastel coloured BG. I realise lining up reflections normally rules for alignment, but in this, I agree with Grace for some CCW rotation to align the darker ripples. I have actually done the same on a few of my images, where my eye disagrees with the reflection.

I like the feel of the image , more plain colors which make it sweet
love the way the bird is looking at the water , reflection adds a lot to the mood of this image for me.
    Agree on the CCW rotation

Lovely and has an ethereal quality.... great how the water and bg blend...would like to see a tad more detail on the bird for a bit (tiny bit) of pop.

I think this is one of my favorites of yours.
Love the dreamy quality and the HA.
The color palette is really unusual ( citron and white with a hint of blue) and I really like them.A keeper for sure once you do a bit of CCW rotation,
    Gail

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment on my post. I missed a second look at the rotation during processing. I wish there was a little better view of the eye. but mostly I hope I am learning and will do even better, next time Fort Desoto give me conditions like this again.

Love how you handled the whites in this sweet image. Rotate for me too.

Robert, Love the soft light, the pink water, the pose, and the HA works well with this pose. And yes to the CCW rotation; tip: use the Ruler Tool and draw a line from the tip of the bill to the tip of the bill in the reflection.... Then Image/Rotate....
