    Default White morph little Blue

Juvenile Little Blue Heron, Alligator Farm, St Augustine Florida

Just so you know, I deleted the last image from my computer, funeral Monday at noon, wake is Tonight and Monday morning. No flowers please, donations to save a bird foundation. :D

The above is really a show and tell image from the Alligator Farm. A white morph little blue or so I am told, I am certainly no expert. First time I have seen one of them and only got one decent image to post of it also.

    Edit: To fix ID

I really like this George! Interesting pose and perch. Love the hint of pink in the clouds. All in all, a winner!

Hi George. I saw this bird and I think I have the same one photographed. I thought it was a juvenile little blue, as they look like this- mottled with dark grey and drab, pale gray bill and lores. Anyway, it's a nice image. I like the extra space on top and the perch has a lot of character. I have a couple nits, though. There is a sensor spot on the right edge, near the branch. Also, I'd rather not see that halo from sharpening- but then I am more sensitive to that than a lot of people are.

I had a great time meeting "you's guys" at the SAAF. Long Islanders are incredibly fun-loving with great personality. Oh wait... I'm from LI! ;)
    Best regards

    Hey George,
Beautiful image, nice perch and the raised foot is a plus. I agree with Shawn this bird is a juvenile little blue.

Whatever the ID , it's still a great image. The comp. is very nice as is the detail and the raised foot tops it all off.

    Hi George,
Nice image of a juvenile Little Blue Heron... just so you know, the LBH is the only Heron that actually has white chicks, and they can be very hard to distinguish from the Cattle and Snowy Egret chicks at an early age. Within the first year they start to gradually begin changing into adult coloration, although, contrary to popular belief; they can be sexually mature in this phase. At fledging time you can see the dark colored parents leading the white juvies around.
