    Little Owl (Female –I think)
Spent a lot of time with these birds this year and just tallied up 2400 shots
Expensive in film days eh ?? How digital has spoilt us.!
The birds spend most of the time moving around the farm yard and sitting on everything around. Funny thing is- if I move my pop up hide they come and inspect it- very useful. Taken late in the day.

Love your barnyard shots of these little guys. What a treat it must be to have them around. In my opinion the 'hand of man' aspect adds some interest. I'm thinking the BG could use some NR. Otherwise no nits from me.

    Thanks Bill.
I can see it now -especially in the dark area. I wonder why I don't see these things before I post !!!

Hi John, Nice backyard bird. Is he chained? :) The midtones could go a bit brighter. Sharp with a nice stare.

Hi Johnny, love the inquisitive stare, and you have captured good detail on the plumage. I would lighten the owl a touch more, it will make him pop more from the darker BG, and agree on some NR on the BG.

My favorite part of this image is the perch. It's quite unique and an integral part of what makes this image work so well. The fact that the owl and perch are on an angle also work well to make him look rather quirky. The color palate is also quite pleasing and works so cohesively. You have yourself a fine image here.

this is sweet, love the details and eye contact! No one else mentioned but I see a red cast over the image and BG could use some NR. My only wish is if you had a natural perch (maybe you can set one up for him) but this one is not bad either

    good work!

Thanks all. Points taken and will be sorted . I'll not repost - just uses up site space.
Arash- It is in fact a "natural " perch. In other words I did not put it there ! If that makes sense. I have pics of the birds on every cocievable perch you can imagine ! I just thought it a bit unusual.
    Thanks for your interest.
