Surely a different perspective and very creative Anette! Works for me!

Great perspective Anette,
Colours look very natural.
Shame about the Oryx in the background with its head chopped off. I might be tempted to crop from the RH side to get rid of that, coming in as far as the elephant's leg.

Interesting perspective and great detail, but just not my cup of tea. Thanks for posting though.

Dearest Anette,
I too like the perspective here, and also the colours-Martin is right, they look very natural. If there was no elephant and no zebra in the picture I would have thought this was taken in the Kalahari!
Anette, I hesitated to comment on this image when I saw it the first time and gave myself time to think about it-was not sure about the oryx/gemsbok on the right. Been wondering what I would do if this was mine.Thought about Martin's suggestion of crop but eventually decided I like it best the way it is. I believe the image would lose context if one removed too much-the ellie's leg would not look like an ellie leg anymore, and the oryx in the BG would be just a shape.
Interesting image and thought provoking, Anette!
Kind regards,

Hi Anette - I also looked a couple of times before commenting. You said you cropped this but I'm guessing you don't have any room to the right. I do wish you had the whole head of the second oryx and don't think you can really crop to compensate for it. So while I like the idea, this one doesn't work for me without the whole head. I know its heat haze but I might also apply a bit more NR to the zebras in the bg.

Hi Anette
I love your work and applaud the way you think OOB ,
But I have to disagree with everyone , the image does not work for me on a couple of levels. The viewer's eye battles to focus on the subject. As the Elephants leg is not OOF enough so your eye goes straight to leg then to drinking Gemsbok and then is pulled to the cropped Gemsbok and then to the OOF zebra. So know where for the eye to settle.
I know Nebrownie waterhole very well and it is very challenging with the steep angle and harsh light as well as competing with other people for space.
sorry … just being honest..

Hi Anette, overall there is a lot to take in and like Peter, my eyes keep wandering, therefore would a more 'vertical' crop work? Where the RH vertical runs through the elephants leg, retain as much of this as possible. It may then bring the eyes more to the drinking Oryx???

Hi Steve,
I can give it a shot, as the images is done, why not. Have another one vertical with 2 of the Oryx, that works better.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment
Have a great eve and upcoming weekend
Ciao
