    Default Zebra pan 2

Here's another pan blur from the same herd, taken @ Lake Manze, Selous GR.
Added a small amount of canvas in front, and cropped to a pano, B&W conversion in CS6, with a slight HK aqpproach.
The rear mum & foal aren't quite as sharp as my earlier submission, but I feel the action/movement is better in this one. I'd be interested to see how our mono members perceive this?

    C & C most welcome.

    Cheers
    Marc

Hi Marc - not sure I'm one of the "mono" members but I much prefer the prior image. Although the space is better here I agree that the sharpness is not as good. But for me the biggest issue with this one is the large very bright areas that are present in this one and not in the other. I find them a bit harsh and distracting so it's not as pleasing to view. Just my $.02.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    THanks Rachel,

That was the exact HK look I was trying to achieve.

Marc - my feeling is that it then needed to be throughout the bg as I don't mind it on the bottom of the image as much as I do on top.

    Hi Marc,

I don't find the other image you and Rachel talk about. Maybe good for that one. I really do not mind that there is no sharpness at all. I like the movement very much.
Conversion looks good to me too. The white on the bottom looks as well very good. The darks in the BG, I might would lift those with a luminosity, I certainly would play around till I like!
My feeling is in this one to keep the movement stripes in the image, IMHO, just a tad brighter.

    Have a great eve

Of the 2 zebra blurs, I prefer the first one. I find that bright white area distracting and interferes with the smooth motion of the zebras. I do think the blur of the zebras themselves is fantastic. Good that you added room in the front, but maybe a bit more room behind the zebras too. The edge feels like it is nipping at the virtual back legs.

    Hi Marc

For me the image would work well if the lead zebra's head was in focus, that is where my eye goes first.

    Prefer the first one…..

    Andre.
