Default Who Will I Be Getting To Meet at Festival Of The Cranes???.... and A Surprise

Well for better or worse my Mother and I will be attending the entire Festival of the Cranes at Bosque Del Apache next week.

When we signed up I wasn't quite having the health issues I am now, so we shall see.

So who do I get to meet???

Now for bragging rights, which I never do, but can't help this one.... it literally shocked me and made my YEAR!!! Very surprising as it was a fun photo with no clear cut category and the other 19 I entered in wildlife didn't place.... LOL

I won the "people category" of the Festival Photo Contest, and even better my photos is the wrap around Cover of the refuge brochure/newsletter called HABITAT!

Jack Panzeca won 1st for the Wildlife/Scenic category.

Here is a link, these are very Low Res and they had you submit tiny files for the first time this year, the print version is much much better.

I can be spotted by Green SUV, walking with a walker, or with my service dog. I hope I get to meet a bunch of you, currently I think Keith Bauer is the only photographer that I know personally.

If you are coming in from out of town, be warned, we are expecting a cold front and it looks like morning temps will be cooler than normal, low 20's.

First of all HUGE congratulations on your win and the fact that they used it for the wrap around cover is awesome!!! I love how you put the SHC in the rear-view mirror. Really well seen & executed!

I think you are going to meet quite a few people from BPN at Bosque. You'll find everyone there very friendly. Once you introduce yourself, you are going to be recognizing quite a few names! One of my favorite things about Bosque besides the amazing wildlife and photography opportunities was meeting so many like-minded people. Enjoy!

    Hi Marina,
    THANK YOU!!!

i wish one of my pictures that had the pair of cranes had been as good, I must have shot 50, but the pose in this one was my favorite and the other crane had wandered off several yards.

I am born and raised here so we go to the Bosque a lot, the Festival some. This will be the first time we attend the whole thing. So it will be the first opportunity to have time to meet people.

we should all have BPN shirts

Super congrats on the win and the cover. Love the shot! One of those serendipity moments when the crane was still long enough in just the right place....and you had the eye for it! Well done.

Big congratulations on your win, Linz! That's awesome! I love the unique point of view with the wide landscape and then the closeup in the rearview mirror.
