For me a once in a lifetime image, when I realised just what might happen, I began to tremble with anticipation!
She placed herself perfectly as she stopped her descent as if to admire the beautiful sunrise.
Ruaha NP- Tanzania. Oct 2014 30% crop.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers

Marc, beautiful capture. The sky is fantastic and the details of the cloud are excellent. The leopard silhouette is perfect. If there is one thing I wish is to have a little bit of the ground for reference. Loi

    Lovely colours and silhouette Marc.
It would have been even better if you had been able to pull back a bit and include the whole palm tree.

I do have a little more lower room, but as it had distracting croton bushes at base I opted to crop them out for a cleaner look.

Hi Marc, like the comp & overall colour, just need to address the halo around the silhouette outline.

I did notice this, but it's only evident here with downsizing to the web, not on my full size TIFF image.
I did notice that with CS6 the default option to save is now a Bicubic Auto, previously with my old CS5 I used Bicubic smoother, wonder if this has made the slight rim/halo effect on downsizing?
    WDYT?

Hi Marc - very well done. Agree about the halo. Love the colors of the sunrise and the other palm adds to the image.

Works for me marc, great image with lovely colours and nice silhouette. I would perhaps lose the palm tree if you not opposed to it, other wise great image

Bicubic Auto will simply choose between Bicubic Sharper for Downsizing and Bicubic Smoother for upsizing. Bicubic Sharper does oversharpen to the extent of giving halos. I'd just try Bucubic and sharpen in a separate step where you have more control.

You can reset the default in Preferences > General > Image Interpolation, or reset it each time you use it.

    Thanks Diane

In CS5 my experience in using Bicubic smoother (set to default in Preferences) appeared better to me when downsizing to the web, I'll start using Bicubic (only) in CS6 and see how that works out.

    Stunning and evocative image Marc.
Composition and colours spot on for me.

I agree on the halo, very slight, but I've found it's soooo easy to induce with these strong dynamic range variances (silhouettes to highlights) especially when doing selective adjustments on the silhouette outline or the sky? Not sure how you approached it in PP so I might be winging it

Ed, I remember she did gaze out toward the sunrise and was now in the process of turning her head around toward us for the dismount.

    Hi Marc,
very good silhouette shot, like the colors, the framing ,comp etc.
Not the halo , with a bit of action work you can avoid that.

Would think about removing the branches of ULC.

    TFS Andreas
