Often classed as a dull boring bird ,I find the suble colours great. Slightly blurred on the throat - maybe caught in mid swallow !!!

Wow, this is way better than the thumbnail looks. Great detail and colors in this and I like the water drop on the beak. Lots of nice complementary colors too. Nice work

    That is a beaut Johnny.
You really put me to shame Johnny with super images of birds I don't give a second look.
Mind you, with 2 dogs and a cat birds don't stick around for long in our garden.

Nothing dull or boring about House Sparrows, at least not in my view!! Introduced here in North America they are considered pests and aggressive competitors to our native species but I have fond memories of observing and listening to their cheerful chirps around the house growing up.

I love your image, awesome drinking behaviour and the setting is very pretty, I could see a version with less canvas above (to below the green and orange coloured areas in upper left corner).

Wow this is a ripper John. Also an introduced species here in Australia - but this one of the best images I have seen of this species, great work

Cool species, nice light overall and pose. The added droplet on beak is killer. I would suggest to crop from the top a little bit.

Quite lovely as noted. Love that huge water drop. I'd be OK with a small crop from the top (to lose the lightest tan leave on the top frame edge) and then a small crop from the bottom as well.

Beautiful shot Jon, I like the colours but I think they are over saturated. The pose and water droplet is excellent - a moment well captured.
