I love everything about this image, Anette! And especially the way the light catches the tiger's face as he swims away from the shadow. Love the expression you have captured, the colours, those OOF branches that remind me how elusive this species is, how rare, how special the sighting.
Warmest regards,

Fantastic eye contact with the tiger, and you captured nice details in the fur. For me, the remaining OOF bits of brown grass in the foreground are distracting, especially since you already have lots of details in the stuff on the water surrounding the tiger.

Hi Anette - interesting choice on the dof/aperture but it works well having the floating stuff (?) in focus too. Great look the tiger gave you and nicely processed. It all works well here.

Awesome tiger pose Anette. I like the surroundings and DOF very much. The eye contact is fabulous.

Hi Anette, great to break away from 'Africa', nice to see something different in the mix, especially with such a magnificent animal like this. I quite like the comp and the look to camera, as if he/she was caught in the act of being naughty, a bit like 'arc'.
I agree with Rachel, f/11 seems a little excessive, what was the thinking behind your choice?
There is I feel more you can get out of the image, I would suggest looking at tweaking the Colour balance, add some Curves to bring he light back in the face and another round of however you apply a Mid Tone adjustment. Wished you hard posted bigger so we could appreciate it more.

Steve

Thank you very much Gabriela, Nancy, Rachel, Sanjeev & Steve for your comments and suggestions.
Nancy, I see the grass as an input in this image, or better said, that's how it was and no way around for me. A way around would have ended with to sink the little Jeep and us!
Steve & Rachel, the f/11, as far I remember it was still set from Landscape shots I took just before we saw this Tiger in the pond. We drove along and actually stopped right on top of this Tiger, behind him. The LHS rock was covering it. We only saw it when we came down the little hill and looked back into the pond. I as well got big eyes when I saw the f/11 on the file, that was not quite me in 2007
Must have been the Landscape and this one was our very first 'real' wild Tiger! All was than forgotten, just push button think later
This Tiger was than probably only 1min longer in the pond, he left quite fast. We disturbed his/her privacy!
Thanks so much for your suggestions
Ciao

PS Steve, posting larger I will see. Spent last week about 3 days only sending off DMCA's for stolen images. One looks like runner up to be stolen, which I was shocked, when I saw what Google image search spit out to me. Even found it on a official government page, that is solved by now! With this image I claim now money back with retroactive license! Just need some smart sentences to send the mails off to the abusers!
I do know a bigger image would help. Happy to send you private a bigger one

Unfortunately with these new laws in place, the www is a great pond to fish in free of charge, annoying is not the phase I would use, however...
Anette I'm spending time back up at the other house so no need in fwd the RAW unless you would like to, but won't look at it until at least a week Thursday, might get a break in the weather and want to see if I can get some Autumn fall colour shots.

Hi Anette,
sorry to hear your hazzle, hope all will become better inn the future . How did you find out? By luck?
The image is ok, do not like the steep angle ,looking down into that murky algae covered water. The over the shoulder look is quite nice, like wise the colors.
Good suggestions for lightening parts are already made. I have no problem with the grass in FG, in an ideal world they are not there, but when is it ideal?

Thanks so much Steve, the PM has been sent already.
Andreas, many thanks, with the angle, not much choice with this one. Will do the lightening part for sure.
How to find out with images, very easy. Get Google Chrome, go over your pic, right click and click on "Search Google for this image" It will pop up once or twice or more often. Click on search ALL SIZES, the surprise might be huge, as I got with one image. I was nearly falling from my chair when I saw pages filled only with one image of mine.
When you hover with the mouse over the images Google shows you, the websites will pop up, where to find it posted! From there contact them, if possible, not always. When no contact available I look up the Whois and get the website host, like GoDaddy or so. Send them a abuse e-mail or get the e-mail address in Whois of the website owner. I usually contact them first. Have a draft sitting here. When no answer I claim a DMCA with Google. Always make a pic of screen, copy the link address, when you find your image abused. You might need it.
When the DMCA is off to Google, the link will be taken off in search.
When now a blogger use a image from me with a link to my website, that is fine with me. I usually don't say anything. Without a link, I friendly ask for a link or to remove my image. But that always depends of who it is and if the Blog makes money with commercial or anything else. If it is now a person doing a blog for fun, I do not mind. Just add a link
But my latest runner up stolen image has been posted on a website and the credits went to two different persons. THAT makes me mad, more than mad mad mad ( this is polite said, you can imagine my German phrase for that )
If you need any info with such stuff PM me. Have loads info by now.
Have a nice eve
Ciao
