One of our small cuckoo species here in Australia. This species migrates from the north down to Victoria in spring/summer.

    Hi Greg

Beautiful background, perch, pose and all very complimentary colours...Well done there.. I do think the head area IQ is not up to your usual very high standard however, is it lacking a bit of sharpening??

    thanks for showing

Thanks Don - I had real problems downsizing this image - it actually looks sharp as a tack as a large file (maybe I just haven't sharpened it enough) - here is a re-post which has been sharpened more... Cheers, Greg

Greg the repost certainly looks sharper the colours of the bird are fantastic tiny nit the bird does look a bit central but saying that I would not want to loose the berries and leaves to the left of the bird ,super image.

Great perch, pose, background, colors. The repost does it, including the larger size and the resharpening.

Hi Greg, the light has brought out the colourful iridescence nicely, and your repost has ceratainly sorted out the sharpness. Love the BG. Great work.

This species is so similar to our Diedricks cuckoo.

Another stunner, Greg. The RP sharpening is just right. Colors are simply sublime here.
