Here's a picture of a bird that I've wanted to photograph for a long time. We had poor weather yesterday, but the light popped very briefly so I ran to my local duck pond, hoping to get some ducks in the reflected colors of the fall foliage. As I walked along, I saw this beauty. Quickly found a small opening in the brambles and fired off about 10 images before she chattered away. The bird is unmanipulated but I removed many sticks in the background. So I can't check this one off my list because someday I hope to get a totally clean shot that requires no photoshop work, but for now, I'll keep this one.
Excellent image, Grace. If it were mine, I would darken the mid tones of the bird. What I do is, I separate the bird, go to selective colors, in there neutrals and move the slider to the right by about 6-12 points. (plus)
Hi Grace, any kingfisher in the open is worth keeping, and what a lovely colourful BG to round it off. Super angled posed, love the raised hairdo, and I like how the perch meanders through the frame.
Really nice Grace. Great pose and HA and I like the BG on this one. The exposure and details look perfect and I really like the perch as it tapers and ends before the frame. Congrats on getting this elusive bird
