    Default Shining Bronze Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx lucidus)

    I was excited to take a photo of this bird as I hadn't seen one before, took this photo in Portland in some bush land about two k's from the beach at 8.34am, very large crop around 90%, exposure lifted and clone stamp used , Camera Model: 5d mk iii

    Hi Merv.. congratulation on getting something new.. always a thrill. IQ has suffered a bit with the large crop and the blurry stick on the LHS could be removed if your ethics will allow. Its distracting and image will improve lots with it gone... Still, a thrill is a thrill... Why ISO 100? did you mean 1000??

    Hey Don, nah I won't bother removing the branches on the left for this photo.. anyway yeah I was shooting on auto iso and for some reason it decided 100 was good. I wont be shooting auto anymore. cheers :)

    nice catch, main issue here is the steep angle and the deep shadows, loss of details with the big crop didn't help either. Hope you find him in better conditions
