Felt like he was coming straight for me The Lion was jumping to cross the small stream from a natural spring, but did not take his eyes off me for the whole act. I was glad though, got some decent eye-to-eye shots.
The light was tricky - from super harsh to shady in quick successions - due to some random clouds. So with the erratic light, I decided to keep the ISO @ 400. In the hindsight, guess could've used some more SS on this one.

I understand your feeling :) Very good eye contact there and he is a majestic lion. What stands out the most for me is that the lions edges is to sharpened, look at his tail. I would also possibly tone down the orange/yellow slightly, but you were there. Comp wise I would shave of a bit of the right hand side to get him less centered / better balance in the picture.
Hi Shreyas - fantastic eye contact. It almost looks like he could tip forward he is so intent at staring at you. Gregor has made some good suggestions for taking the image up a notch.
Yes a slightly over sharpened image but the details are certainly there. I think you might have sharpened the foreground and background as well which makes for some strange patterns behind the lion's body.
Nice pose though and he definitely seems to be coming after you!

great sighting and love the eye contact with this chap. Wonder if you have a image when his front legs are shown as well!
you got got suggestions above, I might would reduce the sharpness behind the lion, just me :)
have a great eve
ciao Anette
PS he must be one of the two male of the big pride hanging around there in the corner of the pan :))
When are you going there again? I will be there in May '14
Nice Etosha moment! I like the eye contact and feel the image could be punched up a bit in the exposure department. I'd also shave some off the RHS.
Clock is ticking for me - hope to see many of these guys soon
