    Hi Folks ,
sadly i am still not that relaxed for going back to my "old" times here in BPN.
Been to Jasper NP in Canada as an extension for work i had to do in Pittsburgh .
So i had a week with some nice weather, most of the time, mainly when there was not that much to photograph.
But i got some stuff, nothing exciting really , had to take what i could get.

At least it was fun , to be out in the field watching wild animals instead of captive ones.

These two where part of an elk herd on the side of the main highway that runs through the NP, car was moving by the pressure of the wind caused by heavy trucks passing by, so not a real feeling of nature with the sound of trucks and other traffic in the BKG.

    Canon EOS 1Dx
EF 200-400 IS L USM , yep i own it now.
    Car window support

    F8 ; ISO 3200 ; 1/320 sec ; +1,3 EV compensation

    Thanks for watching

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, congrats on the new toy! I love the frame here and the way both of them are looking in the same direction. Nice sharpness and light.

Hi Andreas - we've missed you. Hopefully, you'll be able to find the time to participate more frequently. Nice look at the 2 cows. I like the tones and the way the hair on the rump of the in focus one is standing up. If it were mine I would back off on the sharpening of the grasses at the very bottom of the frame and crop out the line of darker foliage at the top of the frame.

    TFS,
    Rachel

P.S. congrats on the new lens!

I would agree that you have been missed, Andreas...good to see a post from you again (and congrats on the new lens)!
I like the tones and form in their bodies. In an ideal world I would have liked to see them separated (not merging) but it's not a deal-breaker. I second Rachel's crop suggestion.
I hope you get back into your desired rhythm again soon.

Love the symmetry here with this pairing Andreas, looking forward to seeing more from the 200-400.

    Hi Andreas, told you.

I agree about the separation and sharpening, however, personally I would like to see more image to the RHS, it's too 'vertical'. I think you have cracked the sharpness/detail aspect, well done. Wonder if the NR is a tad too much, as there is a big step between sharpness & OOF hind irrespective of DOF, WDYT? Overall colour & tones work well. Personally would have liked a more 'eye level' POV.

Thanks a bunch to all of you out there,
first a question……….. if you missed me that much…………. why haven`t you called me over the phone LOL, my number is 0800-123456789, so next time feel free to contact me.

No honestly i feel lucky that i have been me missed, appreciate it , try it now to be more present.

Re image , agree about the grass, the separation could be perfect, but not much i can do afterwards , have them separated , but not looking in the same direction.
No more space on RHS , and not enough room on top to eliminate the darker top end.

Steve - you talk about the contrast? Eye level not possible unless i crawled out of the car, but then they would have gone quickly.
So not much i can do, i will think and look again on NR, did not use much though.

Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment !!!!!!!!!

    Cheers Andreas

Andreas, love the detail and lighting on the front elk! Nice with the heads of both animals facing the same direction. The car makes a great blind but it also means you are on a road with annoying traffic noises.
