Beautiful bird, light , pose and background. One of my favourite British birds.

I like it - nice colors, light, details and BG.
The head angle is not a direct to the camera one, but I like it because I feel it like a contemplative one.

I've been enjoying your puddle images, and this one is my favorite for the lower angle, neat submerged perch, and overall setting. Low SS but the image looks sharp as posted. Careful with the masking of the bird before working on the BG...there is a masking halo along the top contour of the subject.

Really cool looking little bird. Nice detail and nice environment. I think I would prefer the BG to be toned down a bit. Either way beautiful image!

    Thanks guys
Funnily enough I did tone the back ground down a bit so that's probably where the halo came from.
I assumed the blurry halo bit on the top edge was a bit of a rear wing flick.

This is a lovely frame, and what a great looking bird. Super perch and your BG complements your subject quite nicely.
