    Default Song Sparrow?

The forecast for sunshine was wrong. Despite that I took a long walk this afternoon looking for sparrows in one of our largest restored prairies. This sparrow flushed in front of me and clung to some Indian Grass for a few seconds before flying off. I'm embarrassed to admit that even after spending 20-minutes with my bird ID books I'm not 100% sure that this is a Song Sparrow.

You can see how they blend in so well with those colors. A nice habitat shot with a great pose. Agree that it's a Song Sparrow.

Song Sparrow for sure. I like the clump of twigs it is gripping and most of the other "brownish" ones strung alongside those (I especially like the curled looping grass) but find the rest of the various elements are making for a very busy image. Good pose by the sparrow and I like the earthy tones present throughout.

Amazing how well this sparrow blends in with its habitat. I wish the OOF vegetation on the right weren't so distracting.

Thanks all for the feedback and for confirming the ID. I find sparrow identification to be challenging!
