Default Matthew Briggs - Saying Hello

Hello and thank you for your time in reading this and accepting my registration.

I'm from South East Victoria, Australia and have been a photography beginner for just over 1 year now with the majority of my skills being self taught by playing around with the camera settings and getting used to what I like to use in Manual Photography.

First started off photography with a little Lumix point 'n shoot then moved on to a Sony Legria HR 36 video recorder when I went on a 1 month trip to the united states where my passion for bird photography started.
During my trip to the states I found that using an lcd screen to take photo's and video was a bit slow in keeping up with bird species and that's when I moved onto my current camera the Canon EOS 60D with a 18-200mm f4.5-5.6 IS Lens and later on moving to the sigma 150-500mm lens which I'm still using today.

Have had a look at photo's that have been put up on this site over the past few days while waiting for registration to be activated and have to say that this forum is certainly producing a nice wide range of photo's which is great to see.

Hope to share some nice photo's for people to enjoy and good to see what else there is around the world.

Thank you and have a good day ^.^

Welcome Matthew! Great to have you here. I've moving along the same progression as you in camera equipment with a 60D and a 300 at this point. Will look forward to hearing/seeing more from you!

Hi Matthew great to see a fellow Aussie on this site, I'm a learner too:rolleyes: with a 60D + 50-500 combo just got a sturdy benro tripod from the US and am looking to go try the combo out. Saving for a gimbal head but my benro ballhead will have to do, cheers from Broome.
