    Default Autumn Dunlin.

A couple of Dunlins provided some excellent opportunities in an autumnal setting at the edge of a local pond last weekend. Got down and dirty in the mud and goose poop for those (as per usual!). At first glance the setting wasn't so pretty but the low angle really made the setting shine. My friend took a couple of images of me at work (I was so concentrated I had no idea!), so you can see what the setting looked like (thanks Stephen!):

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld from the ground, about 80% FF, some brighter highlights in the BG toned down via burn tool and low opacity cloning.

Great image Daniel as always and rally nice to see how you capture your images and more importantly for me, how close you are to the subject. The autumn colours look great.

    This shot is really lovely.
Very unusual to have the fall colors AND a dunlin together.

Hi Daniel, one of the nicest Autumnal image I've see here for quite a while, love the rich warm colours, really sets the subjects off well. As always, excellent POV!

Stunning...and thanks for sharing those images of you. Goes to show the power of a low angle and what can be achieved by compressing those backgrounds. Love the foreground in this one too.

Another fine example of your excellent fieldcraft, eye and technique. I'm not always a fan of oof birds, but this is the exception, and the fall colors are wonderful. Thanks for sharing the other images.
