This is another pool - this time on farm land. Although my woodland pool is self sufficient, this one is made with a liner and has to be topped up in dry weather(If we ever get any)!!
So you could say I suppose it was attracted by water.. These birds are usually ultra shy but once they have taken to the hide they are a doddle to do.

The splayed tail, fully raised crown, and wide open eye all make for an engaging pose and image...only a better head angle would have been better but it is still not too bad as is.

    Thanks-
What head angle do you reckon?

I like the raised crest, details and sharpness. Nice image Johnny.

Lovely shot Johnny, the exposure and detail is excellent. A little more head turn toward the camera would have been ideal, you have a great set up here, I guess you have feeders there for passerines and woodies??

Jonathan - no, I have all the feeders up in the garden at home. I live in the middle of Wyre forest so I can get most stuff through the window !!

Yes much better head angle and the feathers on his head are almost like a crest. The histogram indicates the darks and lights are just a little blown.
