From Moss Landing State Beach just before sunset several weeks ago. Most of the shorebirds had congregated on a low-tide mudflat with the setting sun behind them; but a few of these guys wandered up onto the beach allowing me to get the sun behind me. This one practically walked into my lap. I believe he must be a juvie; his bill, although long enough, isn't as absurdly long as the adults. 87% of full width. The beach was amazingly clean requiring only a tiny cleanup; some rotation and levels; NR & USM. C&C appreciated.
Very nicely lit and the feather detail stands out in this fine image. The FG and BG look great as they blend together. Nice feeding pose too. Well done
