    Default Hawaiian Green Turtle.

Kolea, Kauai, Hawaii in a small cove.
For those not familiar, these are 3-4 feet long and they are spectacular!
Easier to take underwater (I wish I had a housing), they are hard to shoot popping up in
the surf. They swam all around while I boogie boarded, just awesome creatures.

Great image, i like the colours and detail in the turtles head looks good, i may be inclined to add a slight vignette around this image, although often used to the images detriment, i think it may work on this image in order to focus your attention on the Turtle.

I like this Dan. Not something we see everyday. I would have loved a lower angle as well

Like the head position and the water colour combined with the turtle's colour, Dan.
I agree, underwater housing would have rocked it!
Is this much of a crop? I'd be tempted to crop closer and focus on the protruding head?

Hi Dan - great pose with the raised head and the colors say tropical. Some good suggestions above. Although not likely to yield the same IQ as your dslr there are some P&S cameras that can be used underwater to 10 feet (or in some cases more) and would give you a relatively inexpensive alternative and are also fun to use for underwater movies. I used an Olympus while snorkeling in the Galapagos.

The water colour here gives a nice contrast to the turtle, like the symmetry with the head bob and small wave crest behind.

Beautiful colours and nicely composed. Without going underwater, would be hard to improve.
