As beautiful as hummingbirds are in flight, their testy personalities provide wonderful photo opportunities even when they are perched. They constantly posture and threaten each other near feeders. Sometimes they bump chests midair, battle each other, and perform spectacular chases. Luckily, these altercations almost never result in any injury. The bird on the left is a Tourmaline Sunangel male; the bird on the right is a Buff-tailed Coronet ( rare Flavescens Race). They were threatening each other a moment before they took to the air in a squabble.
