Merv, Can you explain the thinking behind your choice of ISO? It's hard to read, but I think it says ISO 160?

As for the image, the scene is dramatic with the swell of the wave and the excellent wing position of the bird. His (or her) face needs more light though.

Ah, I'd change that setting yet today.

This image has a nice dramatic feel to it.
A few tweaks and it would sing.
I feel it needs a bit more room on the top.
Do you have NIK Efex? If you do, I would try to pull out some detail in the whites on the rump.
I would lighten the head area as well.
It might be my old eyes but I think you could also bring out a bit more detail in the wings,
    Gail

Hi Gail, I use lightroom and photoshop. :) I lifted the shadows around the head and lifted exposure using brush in lightroom and it turned out nice.
I usually add canvas just using the crop tool in photoshop?
And as far as pulling out details in the white I usually just lower the highlights?
and how do you suggest I bring out more detail in the wings.
    Thanks in advance..

Looks to me like you had a great time on that pelagic trip! I really like the clouds in this image, and the banking pose looks good. I agree the image could use more canvas above. Careful when adding canvas, here I can see a couple of repeating patterns at left that could be cleaned up.
