    Default Thirsty Lion

After having his fill of the kill, the lion walked over to the water hole. Wish I could see the eye but his mane was quiet thick, obliterating the view. I liked the side-on pose and the tongue making the ripples in the water.

Hi Sanjeev - though I see why you like this one, for me without a bit more of the face visible this one is a near miss rather than a keeper. Something looks strange just below the lion's head with it smudged and the ripples obscured or eliminated. Did you clone something there?

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Hello Sanjeev,
This is one massive lion and I am impressed with the size of that mane! Would love to know where this image was taken.
I so wish for the eye to be visible, did you get any shots of him when he stood up after drinking?
I must admit, I too keep similar images because I like to have records of "who is who" or rather "who is where" in the Kalahari, but the lack of emotion in faceless shots prevents me from processing them. I really hope there's more where this came from!!!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Can't mistake that tongue Sanjeev, obviously the Gene Simmons of male lions!

Wow what a great moment you had here.I only wish we could see more of the lions face. I love the rings of water created. Nice behavior shot

I have to agree with Rachel here. I like the tongue and he's got a beaut of a mane, but it needed eye contact to work (and I'm the first guy to chuck the "eye contact" rule if the image can still have impact without it).

Looking forward to seeing him walking towards you
