Last week I found a few turnstones in breeding plumage at Texel. Gorgeous birds and quite rare to see them over here in these colors.

Would like to see more of the eye and more of the reflection. Oterwise a very nice image.

    Hello,

Lovely details and exposure. I have to agree with Manos regarding eye contact.

Nice bird, sharp, and good EXP, but the lack of light on the face and little eye contact hurt this image a bit. At what time of day was is made? (The light seems to be from overhead and thus the face and eye are shaded...)

thanks for the responses. I know it could be a bit better. should have used flash, but my batteries died when i saw this one coming (no excuse :-( ). this was photographed 10am. i have some more pictures where i have more light on the eye, but i liked this pose. i do not mind missing the complete reflection though
