    Default Run Little One

This spring we got lucky with the skimmer colonies especially considering we lost all nesting shorebirds to the horrible storms last year. We had one storm this year that wiped away the colony but luckily early enough in the season that they re-nested successfully. This little one was just learning flight and skimming techniques. I really like how I just caught the eye here and the foot position as well. What do you think of the pan crop? I had to add a small amount of canvas to the left to make it work.

One cool shot IMHO Cheryl, perhaps a little more head visible, but that is being 'picky'. SS worked well to nail the shot, excellent.

Really nice Cheryl. I love the eye peeking out from the wings. Excellent sharpness and exposure too.

Great pose and techs look great!

I think the pano idea works well but it's a bit tight for me. Since you have already added canvas, maybe add even more to the left as well as a bit on the right and bottom

I think this is really cool!
I am OK with the tight comp. I think you need it to emphasize the little bit of eye that is visible.
I really like the mid-air striding pose.
By the way,I just read that you got honorable mention in the Natures Best for captive image category. A huge congratulations to you. Well done,
    Gail

Quite a unique image, but I've come to expect that from you. Nicely seen, and a good title as well. Congrats on the Nature's Best honor.

WOW! I mean, the timing, the position, and the IQ ... all top notch.

You were at that perfect height to get the eye over the wing. Just amazing execution!
