Default A bit of Nome - Siberian Bluethroat

Whenever I take a trip, it takes me quite a few months to be ready to evaluate and edit my images. At first I am too clouded by the sheer excitement of a new place, new species, memories, etc. I am now beginning to go through the images that I took in Nome, AK this past June and found this one to share with you.

Thank you for looking, and for your comments. I appreciate them all.

Fantastic capture. wonderful use of the perch and an excellent pose. I'd love to see a bluethroat, thankfully they occasionally appear as rarities in the UK so I may get my chance. I know they have shown up very locally too. Amazing to think you've been almost the same bird ( probably a different sub species or type of bluethroat) in Alaska.

I am about ready to book a trip!
    What a beautiful species.
One would never think of Alaska viewing this, just superb and a cool perch to go with.
I am looking forward to more....

What a great bird. Sharpness looks good.

To me looks like highlights could be toned down about or maybe the exposure. Appears just a bit bright for me on the light colors.

Great calling pose, perch, BG, colours. I "browser cropped" from the top down to just above the top-most bloom and liked what I saw rather than seeing the perch tip. Just a subjective option for you...

Beautiful light and BG. IQ is awesome as well.
    Perfect singing pose.
You are the queen of comp so I feel a bit cheeky suggesting this -I find the composition a bit "long" and would look at cropping from the bottom to just above the first ***** willow. This would put the bird squarely in lower third of image both horizontally and vertically.Just a thought.
Another wish is that he was higher up on the branch so that the ***** willow wasn't obscuring some the belly. Again a minor nit...
I have a feeling you have not shown us the best of the bunch yet and am looking forward to those bluethroat images!
