I couldn't resist taking this individual's picture with such a beautiful background to set it against.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, almost FF with a bit cropped left and top.

Nailed it Daniel! Those fall colors cant' be beat, and it looks like you got a little bit of each (something that I think is hard to do with the compression you get with the 500 +1.4.

Way to make this common bird look terrific.
Nicely seen and we'll thought out.

Hi Daniel, the BKG colours really compliment the subject well, tying in with the eye & bill colours. Wonder if a small sliver off the top may help, WDYT?

Hi Dan, great concentrated stare, and overall nice and sharp. I like how you have comped this, and yes, the colours in the BG are simply awesome. Well thought out.

Very beautiful, Daniel! The BG is stunning, I can just imagine this printed on canvas! Great sharpness and IQ, I would try Steve's suggestion to take a bit off the top. Your processing is impeccable

Off topic: how are the little squirrels doing? Have you seen them again?

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks all! Gabriela, we have not seen the squirrels once they've left the nest. Hopefully they are well and having fun in the forest :-)
