Inspired by Judy's composites and the clip art website she shared, I had fun creating this Halloween image. The base image is my backyard. This morning the trees and rocks were in a thick layer of fog which was already a surreal look. I added the bat from the clip art site. Then a lot of trial and error and a lot of layers. Topaz Adjust 5, glow in the dark is predominant. Then Topaz simplify 4, oil paint. I used the smudge tool from PS to distort the bat. I just remembered my first change was Pixel Bender, oil paint.

You all have inspired me! I've got to find some clip art I love the scale of this one with the bat being predominant, the eerie colors and the sendse of fog and wind, toil and trouble. Well done, Nancy!

Well done Nancy! You really transformed your backyard into a surreal landscape. I like the bold colors and the bat fits right in. Good choice of filters.

Great colours, and very spooky, the bat is like a spirit in the graveyard!

Spooktacular! I love the effects and the bat is awesome against that vague glow in the sky, which my mind makes into a giant moon... Very fun image!

Wild! A friend of mine makes animal cutouts (mostly bats and rats, for reasons I've never had the nerve to ask about) and somehow projects them onto an assortment of walls and photographs them.

This is great Nancy...love the pixel bender work and the colors too. Spooky for sure...kinda reminds me of a Scooby-Doo movie...I get to watch all the reruns again as my 6 year old daughter loves to watch Scooby-Doo
