Default Dave Seeram's "Vector" illustration technique on my Discus pair.

Inspired by Dave Phillips' previous post of the Green Heron "Illustrated". I was able to find the workflow for this by googling "Dave Seeram" and found a Pbase article with the step by step. A lot of fun, but doesn't work on a lot of images.

Well it obviously worked on this one! This is a really stunning, Dan. I'm a big fan of really instense, saturated images so this one REALLY made me smile. Love your composition and that you tried something new! I believe I'll be googling that one myself.

Nice application Dan......his action is well suited to architectural and product images,
but I play often with wildlife.

Did you download his illustration action?

Dave, No, I just followed the steps in the Pbase article. Where can I get the Action! that would be much easier. Dan

Dan the "free" action is down this page a bit......the full set of 5 is at top for a small fee, but well worth it IMO.
I have no affiliation with Dave's site......just giving a link

Wow, this is lovely. What colors, and I love the look. Could the front fish (jeez, I started typing "bird") be sharpened a bit. Would love to compare the posted image with the ORIG so that I could see what has been done.

Thanks Art. I will play with the sharpness.

Here is the starting jpg. I cropped, then followed Mr. Seeram's steps, then reduced the opacity of the illustration layer to about 80%. The eggs were just too deformed and merged together, so I erased most of the illustration layer over the egg area.

Last night I downloaded the action and used it. Wow! it is way easier to use than the step by step. The action seems to take into consideration different image requirements in order to reach the "Vector" look. I recommend downloading the action!

Thanks for the post of the ORIG which I like even more than the "illustrated" version. With the ORIG, I would suggest lightening the whole thing a bit and doing some work to eliminate the purple flash eye.
