Well, I'm back. Two days now without pain meds and starting to get my brain and body back into working condition!

This is a building at Paramount Ranch, which is a local National Park property and film location. It used to be used for shooting westerns - don't know if it gets much of that any more. It is open to the public and is a great shooting location for family photo shoots. I used Topaz filters - Detail, Adjust, and Lens Effects to apply a slight Orton effect. Using the 16-35mm lens at 16mm on the 5DIII gave me some geometric distortion that adds to the odd perspective.

A day late...not to worry. So glad you're back! I like composition of all the lines with their somewhat distorted angles from the wide angle lens. I also like the desaturated look and the slight Orton effect, as that adds emphasis to all the lines created by the boards. I bet this is a lovely place for family pics as you suggest.

Hi, Kerry, welcome back! I like the slight distortion and the b&w Orton. Just got back from our bi-annual Friends of the Library book sale armed with a bag full of old Black and White photo magazines and the images that I'm drawn to all have diffusion or Orton effects done in the darkroom. All the issues are film and darkroom, no digital.

A very nice image! I want to walk up those stairs. The leading lines, triangles and diagonals create a strong image. The conversion looks good. I, too, like the slight distortion--just enough but not too much. So glad you are now without pain or pain killers. :-)

Dizzying if you follow all the lines Kerry. I like your B and w conversion too. Glad to hear you are weaning off some of the meds. Best of luck!
